About Us

Mega City Comics, was established in 1981, initially as a mail-order business, supplying comics, graphic novels, and collecting supplies. After 6 years of mail-order and trading through the comic marts, we opened our shop in Camden Town in 1987.

Our aim was, and still is, to provide one of the most comprehensive ranges of comics and graphic novels in the UK, backed up with helpful, knowledgeable and friendly service.

Over the years, we have hosted signings and events with such luminaries as Alan Moore, Jamie Hewlett, Pat Mills, Simon Bisley, Brain Bolland, Gilbert Shelton, Craig Thompson & Matt Wagner. In 2010 we were proud to be awarded a KING OF CAMDEN award, for excellence in local retailing.

Collections bought

Yes, we do buy comics. We are mainly looking older comics from the 1960s-1970's, but will consider other comics, that mainly feature mainstream, long running superhero titles (Spiderman, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Batman), and will buy in bulk. There is no need to make a full list, you just need to email across an idea of what you have (eg 50 1980's hulks in region 200-300, 100 Spiderman etc). We mainly buy in bulk, and are looking for collections of at least 1,000 items or more, with no maximum (in the last year alone we have purchased over 50,000 comics). Collections comprising of just a small handful, or a few hundred, are generally not of interest, unless you have something very special, or very old (old being 1960s)

If you have something of interest to us, we will generally take THE LOT, and pay immediately via bank transfer - we do not buy for cash in hand)!
